All Cannabis Dispensaries within the State of Illinois must comply with mandated employee training protocols. All new employees involved in the handling and sale of marijuana for adult use must successfully complete a Responsible Vendor Training program.

TēCA’s accredited Illinois State Course has been officially approved by the Department of Financial and professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation, Cannabis Control Section 15-40(i)(3) of the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act. All Cannabis Dispensary employees that “touch the marijuana product” must take this compliance training every year and pass the course with a 70% proficiency rating or higher.

While the TēCA Illinois State Course meets all the requirements for the State of Illinois, it does not earn you the national “Cannabis Dispensary Technician” or CDT credential. To earn your national CDT credential, you will need to take and pass the TēCA CDT Course. The Department of Financial and professional Regulation requires you take 8 hours of continuing education annually. The TēCA CDT Course meets that CEU requirement.
